Dr. Rajeev K Sharma is widely regarded as a pioneer and opinion leader in the field of Orthopaedics and Joint replacement. An academician, clinician and teacher of repute, he has several original national and international contributions. He holds more than 33 years’ experience in the fields of Orthopaedics, Joint Replacement and Sports Medicine. He has been in senior faculty position in All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi.
Has been associated with All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi as Senior Faculty 1992-1998. Has been associated with Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi as Senior Consultant Orthopaedics & Joint Replacement Surgeon since 1998-2016.
Has been involved with Primary & Revision Arthroplasty Of Knee & Hip, Unicondylar Knee Replacement, Surface hip Arthroplasty (BHR), Ceramic Anatomical Head Delta motion THR, Shoulder Arthroplasty & Arthroscopic Procedures of Knee (Ligament Reconstruction, Meniscal Suturing, Menisectomy etc) apart from Trauma surgery. Has operated upon over 10000 Joint replacements till date & going on.
Nepal Government conferred the highest civilian award to Dr Sharma “Prabal Janasewa Sri -Pratham Shreni” on the occasion of Constitution day of Nepal on 20th November 2019. Has developed proficiency in minimally invasive Total Knee Arthroplasty with minimal blood loss and excellent pain management.

- Has done over 10000 Total Joint Replacements & going on.
- First user of Computer Navigated Knee Arthroplasty in North India in 2005.
- Conducted more than 1000 cases of Total Knee Arthroplasty using Computer Navigation.
- Has been a keen user of mobile bearing Total Knee Implants. Has done over 1100 mobile bearing knee replacements.
- Has used over 1000 high flexion knee implants (PFC-RPF, PS-150 and other designs).
- Has started first Bone Bank at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in Delhi 2004.
- Examiner for MS & DNB in Orthopaedics.
